They constitute Symbols of Eduardo Mondlane University, according to the following
hierarchy:

The flag of Eduardo Mondlane University, in all public or official ceremonies held in UEM spaces, must occupy places of honor:
The Eduardo Mondlane University flag is used in all official manifestations of the university community.
The use of the flag is mandatory in ceremonies of an institutional dimension in which the Rector or his representative participates.
The flag must be permanently present in the main meeting room run by the Rector or his representative.
The flag must be hoisted in the spaces agreed and defined by the organic units and
services of the UEM.
The flag is used to cover urns in funeral ceremonies provided for in the Manual of Ceremonial and Protocol of Eduardo Mondlane University.
Emblem
The emblem is a solemn Symbol of Eduardo Mondlane University, which must be used on:
Identification plates of the Eduardo Mondlane University Rectory building;
Diplomas;
Certificates;
Banners;
In official communication from Eduardo Mondlane University and other forms for the exclusive use of the rectory.
Exceptionally, the Eduardo Mondlane University emblem may be used outside of the cases provided for in these Regulations, with prior authorization from the Rector
